SURVIVAL IN TODAY’S WORLD
An eight hour class to prepare you mentally for encounters which could result in personal injury to yourself or another. If you or a loved one are attacked but you are not prepared to defend yourself, you let someone else decide your fate. This class teaches methods to prepare you to be aware of what is going on around you at all times, which increases your ability to defend yourself and your loved ones. This class is all classroom time.

INTRODUCTION TO DEFENSIVE FIREARMS
A three hour non-shooting course designed to teach you more about firearms and firearm safety. This course will allow exploration of many aspects of firearm ownership and its associated responsibilities. It includes safe firearm handling, care and basic maintenance. Also, how to identify modern firearms and their common nomenclature and when the use of deadly force is justified.
Duration: 3 hours Tuition: $45.00
BASIC HANDGUN: LEVEL I
A four hour course of safety instruction followed by discussion and demonstrations of proper shooting and gun handling techniques. Targets are provided; the student furnishes his/her own firearm, 50 rounds of ammunition, hearing and eye protection.

BASIC HANDGUN: LEVEL II
A four hour course allowing for further development and continuation of the marksmanship skills introduced in the BASIC HANDGUN: LEVEL I course, but in a mildly competitive atmosphere. Targets are provided; the student furnishes his/her own firearm, 50 rounds of ammunition, hearing and eye protection.

BASIC HANDGUN: LEVEL III
An eight hour course that progresses to the center fire handgun for those who, up to this point, have been utilizing a rimfire handgun. Many of the skill development drills are the same, but the student will be introduced to the power of the center fire handgun. The student will be introduced to the use of a holster and the proper drawing of the firearm and returning it safely to the holster. Targets are provided; the student furnishes his/her own firearm, 150 rounds of ammunition, hearing and eye protection.

BASIC HANDGUN: LEVEL IV
An eight hour course that provides reviews of the previous courses and includes instruction on engaging moving targets. Targets are provided; the student furnishes his/her own firearm, 150 rounds of ammunition, hearing and eye protection.

COMPRESSED DYNAMICS OF PERSONAL PROTECTION
A fourteen hour course which will help students prepare for more advanced courses. Topics addressed during this course will include how to safely handle and store firearms, legal and moral aspects of the defensible use of deadly force. Also, how to safely and effectively utilize your skills in a stressful encounter including loading, reloading, unloading and clearing a firearm malfunction.
Course requirements: upon registration students will receive a list of required equipment.
Duration: 14 hours Tuition: $250.00
PRIVATE LESSONS
A course with personal attention of an instructor that will help you develop safe sound shooting techniques right from the start or sharpen your existing skills.

WOMEN’S BASIC FIREARM
A five hour course designed for women who desire information on firearms, proper firearm handling and firearm safety. This is a course for the new or inexperienced woman who is interested in shooting, either for fun or personal protection, or would just like to have more information on firearms. Targets are provided; the student furnishes her own firearm, 50 rounds of ammunition, hearing and eye protection.
Duration: 5 hours (3 hours classroom, 2 hours range time) Tuition:$65.00
Items required: Handgun (revolver or semi-auto)
50 rounds ammunition
Eye and hearing protection
Holster and belt
Shooting experience with handgun of choice
$50.00 deposit required to reserve a spot
$50.00 in cash paid at completion of course
Training objectives:
1-Demonstrate proficiency in safe handling of handgun; loading, unloading, storing, securing and firing the handgun
2-Identify the places that handguns may not be carried
3-Identify the major parts of the handgun and how they interact to cause the handgun to function
4-Demonstrate proficiency in marksmanship fundamentals
5-Explain provision under North Carolina law in which the use of deadly force would be justified
6-Testing proficiency:
a. Complete a written exam on the legal issues of self-defense and the provisions of the carrying concealed handgun law with a minimum score of 80%
b. Demonstrate proficiency at firing a handgun with the following structured course of fire. The student must hit the target 36 out of 40 shots.
Targets are IPSC silhouette.
1) 8 rounds @ 1 yard - ready and presentation
2) 10 rounds @ 3 yards - ready and presentation
3) 10 rounds @ 5 yards - ready and presentation
4) 12 rounds @ 7 yards - ready and presentation
Classes are taught at the Pitt County Wildlife Club, NC 222 near
Directions: Approximately six miles from the 264 overpass on NC 43 north, turn right onto NC 222; the club is approximately 1/2 mile on the right.
